April 2006 - (internal EA site)

The QA Support Tech Request/Asset Tracker web application was created with the purpose of tracking of all the assets such as consoles, televisions and PC's throughout the Quality Assurance department as well as be a way to make a tech request to QA Support. Along with these features, it was a central database that housed all information about all employees in the department, their current team status, and location within the studio. This ensured that all vital details would be stored and known if a particular user were to make a tech request.

The website was developed using ASP.NET C# via Microsoft Visual Studio with a Microsoft SQL Server backend for data storage.

Canadian Mental Health Association - Bottom Line Conference

On an annual basis the Canadian Mental Heal Association puts together the Bottom Line Conference which brings together the top professionals in the mental health field. I was asked to put together a simple, but eye appealing design for information on the conference and information on how to register.

The website was developed using HTML and Paint Shop Pro for design.

Mostly Music

Payment processing was done through Paypal.

The website was developed using PHP with a MySQL database backend for data storage.

Uzipp.com Help Desk
March 2002 - www.uzipp.com

Uzipp.com Web Hosting is a low-cost web host targeting mainly entertainment sites. I was asked to develop a Help Desk program that would enable administrators of the server to be able to resolve server issues fast through a user friendly interface to communicate with their customers. The help desk was designed as a ticket based system where users would open a ticket to request a certain problem to be resolved. Administrators could go into the system and search through the tickets and respond to a ticket once it was resolved. When resolved, a user could check the status as well as receive a friendly email that their problem had been resolved.

The website was developed using Perl/CGI with a flat file backend for data storage.

Virtual Nine Web Hosting
June 1999 - www.vr9.com (no longer available)

Virtual Nine Web Hosting was a free 5MB per user web hosting company. I had the role of web designer and customer support technician. I was in charge of maintaining the look and front end functionality of the site. I also spent a lot of time responding to customer support issues and account information. This was also when I first began developing Perl/CGI scripts as i created several for low-level tasks throughout the site.

Personal Web Development
These websites were created on my own time for entertainment.

HockeyNerds.com
April 2006 - Present - www.hockeynerds.com (work in progress)

This website was started with the ultimate goal of creating my own Yahoo! Fantasy League type site that I could use for my own hockey pools with friends and coworkers. I always hated all the little problems that Yahoo! always had with their leagues, so I went about starting to program my own online fantasy pool. Also, being a huge hockey fan, I wanted serious discussion between truely knowledgeable fans. This site is still a work in progress, but hope to have it done by the start of the hockey season.

The website was developed using PHP with a MySQL database backend for data storage.

simpsonsRanked
March 2006 - Present - www.maggied.com

I started this website almost as a sequel to my previous Simpsons site. Being a huge fan of The Simpsons, I was always curious as to which episodes would be considered the best during it's 17 years on the air. The site allows a user to vote on every single episode ever aired and total up the average rating to determine which is the best episode. Along with episode reviews, there is website reviews which is a condensed version of my old Simpsons Top 100 site.

The website was developed using PHP with a MySQL database backend for data storage.

The Simpsons Top 100
October 1998 - September 2005 - www.simpsons100.com (no longer available)

I started this website shortly after I started learning how to make websites. The site started a small simple little site on a geocities.com account, but turned into a fully features Perl/CGI based user login system with a content management system backend with 2 million visitors. The site concept was simply to rate the top 100 Simpsons sites on the web, but turned into a news source for all that was Simpsons. It also featured website judging and reviewing dynamically as well as the ability for users to submit their own Simpsons site to be added to the list.

The website was developed using Perl/CGI with a MySQL database backend for data storage.

The Springfield Message Board
November 1999 - October 2005 - www.maggied.com (no longer available)

This was a typical message board you would see anywhere on the web using Ultraboard Forum application as well as Simple Machines Forum application. However, I made several modifications to the code in Perl/CGI to enhance the experience of users on the message board. Some features added to the forums was a chat room as well as a feature to allow you to see all members currently visiting the message board.

The website was developed using Perl/CGI with a MySQL database backend for data storage.

Simpsons Radio
July 2000 - May 2001 - radio.maggied.com (no longer available)

This website was a unique experience and a whole lot of fun. Just like it sounds, it was as a radio show about all that was Simpsons that was hosted by myself and 2 other people that were located in Boston and Kansas City. We also often had a guest host who was often another Simpsons site owner. Our highest point was when we were able to interview one of the animators from The Simpsons. To do the show, we used a series of different online voice chat software to communicate and from there I recorded the entire show and tape, then edited afterwards. Every week we would come out with a show that was about 30-45 mins in length. You could download an MP3 version or stream it through Real Player.

The website was developed using HTML and Paint Shop Pro for design. I also developed Perl/CGI scripts for added functionality for the site and download tracking.

Channel 6 News
March 1999 - (no longer available)

Channel 6 News was a short lived Simpsons news site that featured web news as well as dynamic features such as want ads where users could login and make public requests for website help or Simpsons memorabilia. Eventually the site got shut down, and features got added to The Simpsons Top 100.

The website was developed using HTML and Paint Shop Pro for design. I also developed Perl/CGI scripts for added functionality for the site.

Bryan's Android Dungeon
December 1997 - (no longer available)

Bryan's Android Dungeon was my very first Simpsons site dedicated to my favourite off-beat sarcastic character The Comic Book Guy. It was fairly short lived and didn't gain that much popularity other than flaming emails about stolen content. I learned my lesson and shut it down.

The website was developed using HTML and Paint Shop Pro for design.

The B&B Collectors Online Sports Card Provider
September 1997 - December 1998 (no longer available)

This was the very first website I created. It was originally intended on being an online store for my rather large hockey card collection I had with my father, but at that time it was beyong my knowledge of web development. So as a result it more or less turned into a hockey site with pictures, statistics and standings.

The website was developed using HTML and Paint Shop Pro for design.
